IFS Training: Richard Schwartz’s Internal Family Systems Institute provides training in IFS to practitioners through intensive programs called Level One, Level Two and Level Three. At any point a year or after taking a Level One training a practitioner can apply to become a Certified IFS Therapist with IFS-I by completing further learning, supervision and by having had their work reviewed and accepted by an approved IFS-I certifier. Derek Scott also provides training in IFS and anyone that has completed his Skills and Competencies Course is considered IFS Informed.
IFIO Training: Intimacy from The Inside Out (IFIO) is a form of couples therapy with its roots in IFS. Toni Herbine-Blank and the IFS-I provide a special Level Two (IFIO) that teaches this couples protocol. In addition Toni provides Advanced IFIO trainings.
I offer individual therapy for adults.
Like many therapists I can help with issues like anxiety, depression, losses, or just feeling stuck and overwhelmed by life. Also like a lot of counsellors, I draw on a mix of approaches to assist the people I work with, depending on why they've come to me, what they've already tried, and what methods click best for them.
That said, I do have a few areas I'm particularly knowledgeable and passionate about:
Social Challenges - My main area of expertise is in helping clients who are struggling to build the kind of relationships they want, due to issues like anxiety, insecurities, lack of experience, or feeling wary and guarded around others.
Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy - I use this with clients who'd like to explore and understand themselves more deeply, have run into blocks when they've tried to make practical changes, are caught in inner conflicts, who want heal their childhood wounds, or who just feel like they've hit a limit on how much they can improve using other therapy or self-help methods and want to try something new.
