IFS Training: Richard Schwartz’s Internal Family Systems Institute provides training in IFS to practitioners through intensive programs called Level One, Level Two and Level Three. At any point a year or after taking a Level One training a practitioner can apply to become a Certified IFS Therapist with IFS-I by completing further learning, supervision and by having had their work reviewed and accepted by an approved IFS-I certifier. Derek Scott also provides training in IFS and anyone that has completed his Skills and Competencies Course is considered IFS Informed.
IFIO Training: Intimacy from The Inside Out (IFIO) is a form of couples therapy with its roots in IFS. Toni Herbine-Blank and the IFS-I provide a special Level Two (IFIO) that teaches this couples protocol. In addition Toni provides Advanced IFIO trainings.
I have over 17 years of clinical experience, and I work with adults, parents, couples, and families. I started my career in mental health in Israel as an expressive arts therapist (M.A.) and completed my Master of Social Work in Canada at Wilfrid Laurier University in 2008. I offer therapy in English and Hebrew, online and in-person, in Toronto, the East End.
The themes I work with include relational difficulties, family conflict, parenting, life transitions, loss, illness, grief, trauma, immigration, sexual orientation, gender identity, anxiety and depression. I also believe in lived experiences and bring mine, such as being a queer immigrant parent, to practice. I am committed to creating a space for safety, connection and trust, and my style is collaborative and warm.
My main modalities are internal family systems (IFS), intimacy from the inside out (IFIO) and psychodynamic therapy. I also draw from: expressive arts and play, solution-focused, narrative and dialectical behaviour (DBT) therapies. With parents, I integrate emotion-focused skills training (EFST) and collaborative problem solving (CPS).
While training in IFS and IFIO, I found a professional compassionate home, and I am honoured to facilitate and witness its transformational healing path.
