IFS Training: Richard Schwartz’s Internal Family Systems Institute provides training in IFS to practitioners through intensive programs called Level One, Level Two and Level Three. At any point a year or after taking a Level One training a practitioner can apply to become a Certified IFS Therapist with IFS-I by completing further learning, supervision and by having had their work reviewed and accepted by an approved IFS-I certifier. Derek Scott also provides training in IFS and anyone that has completed his Skills and Competencies Course is considered IFS Informed.
IFIO Training: Intimacy from The Inside Out (IFIO) is a form of couples therapy with its roots in IFS. Toni Herbine-Blank and the IFS-I provide a special Level Two (IFIO) that teaches this couples protocol. In addition Toni provides Advanced IFIO trainings.
I’m a Registered Psychotherapist and Certified IFS Therapist with nearly two decades of counselling experience and IFS Level 3 training. I work with individuals, couples, and families dealing with trauma, relationship difficulties, betrayal, anxiety, addiction, compulsive behaviours, grief, emotional neglect, perfectionism, anger, shame, and major life transitions.
My approach is warm, collaborative, non-judgmental, and client-led. IFS offers a compassionate way to understand the different Parts of ourselves that can become anxious, angry, controlling, withdrawn, or self-critical—often because they are trying to protect us from emotional pain.
Rather than fighting against these Parts, IFS helps us develop curiosity and compassion toward them and reconnect with greater calm, clarity, confidence, and agency.
I also have training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), addiction and mental health, and sex therapy. I work with couples experiencing recurring conflicts, emotional disconnection, betrayal, and difficult relationship patterns.
