IFS Training: Richard Schwartz’s Internal Family Systems Institute provides training in IFS to practitioners through intensive programs called Level One, Level Two and Level Three. At any point a year or after taking a Level One training a practitioner can apply to become a Certified IFS Therapist with IFS-I by completing further learning, supervision and by having had their work reviewed and accepted by an approved IFS-I certifier. Derek Scott also provides training in IFS and anyone that has completed his Skills and Competencies Course is considered IFS Informed.
IFIO Training: Intimacy from The Inside Out (IFIO) is a form of couples therapy with its roots in IFS. Toni Herbine-Blank and the IFS-I provide a special Level Two (IFIO) that teaches this couples protocol. In addition Toni provides Advanced IFIO trainings.
I came to the field of mental health through writing.
As a freelance writer and editor, I helped my clients to find their voices, tell their stories, make connections, understand their goals, and discover the deeper meanings behind surface events.
I aim to do the same thing as a therapist.
I have found that the skills I honed as a writer and editor — focused listening, interviewing, insight, the ability to create a meaningful story from seemingly disparate events — are just as relevant in the therapy space. I look forward to helping you tell your story with greater clarity, compassion, and capacity for joy.
I have a master’s degree in counselling psychology (MACP). I’ve completed IFS Level 1 and IFS Level 2 training in couples counselling (Intimacy from the Inside Out), and have taken advanced training in trauma therapy with Frank Anderson. I am a certified practitioner of eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR).
